Kempton: 23 Months

I really wish time would slow just a bit! Suddenly it is December 20th and he is even closer to two! The reason for the delay is not only because I have been super busy, but there were too many pictures on the computer and I couldn't save anymore on here! I couldn't post this with out one of my new favorite pictures...

Here's Kemp's 23 Month update....

I'll start with pictures first this time...

Kemp is pretty adventurous, especially if he sees big brother do something first.

He loves his cousin "Tysie" and will yell "Tysie" when he sees a picture of him or the real him!

He's also a big fan of Cousin Hannah!

He still loves wearing his hat and generally does not take it off when he gets inside.

 Kemp loves bubble baths!

He loves his Mom (almost as much as his Dad!) He always yells mommy's name in the mornings and prefers that Mom change his diapers, really?!...pretty sure Dan has secretly been giving him some advice with those things!

We went shopping for a present for Cohen's friend and the boys were playing with this Frozen microphone. Kempton was walking around singing, "Let it go....let it goooo." I want to get it for him for Christmas or his birthday but I cannot find it anywhere!! We originally saw it at Target so if you see it, please buy it for him.... :)

This past month Kempton got a haircut all by himself and did not have to sit on Mom's lap. He did an awesome job!
He loves "Olap" aka "Olaf" from Frozen and loves the hat....

...and slippers that Aunt Heidi bought him!

He has had a tough time going to bed lately. It just takes him forever to finally fall asleep. Sometimes he takes his shirt off, as seen above, other times it's his pants or he's just rolling around playing and talking.

As you can see he loves raspberries! He also likes bananas, oranges, green beans, pancakes, waffles, chicken, raisins and any kind of chocolate. He likes to drink milk or water.

He likes to help clean! If only he didn't make a bigger mess while doing it.. ;)

His favorite ninja turtle is Mikey! He can correctly identify all of the ninja turtles, April and Shredder. Definitely learned that from Cohen!

He can be so stubborn and demanding! In this picture, he didn't want to put on his pajama shirt and only wanted to wear this sweatshirt after his bath. I struggle with giving in to him and things that aren't worth a fight. I don't want him to always get his way, but at the same time if it isn't a big deal, why not? I try to give him choices, which seems to help!

See his Santa pajama shirt under his T-shirt?...He loves Santa and forcing him to take off that shirt was not worth ruining this kids morning.

In fact, he loves all things Christmas! Especially Christmas lights, Christmas trees, and their Elf, Cheeks!

Cheeks brought Kemp his very own (creepy) Cheeks shirt! Haha. I am pretty sure it's a girls shirt, but seriously, his reaction when he saw it was priceless.

He loves hiding in the closet... at least he always hides in the same spot!

Below are a few pictures of Kemp and his friend, Ritchie. Him and Ritchie are in the same class, and Ritchie's sister CJ and Cohen are in the same class. We were at CJ's birthday party in the pictures below.

Kempton loves to take pictures and often accidentally takes pictures of himself!

 Here are some videos....

Working on his wizardry with Cohen's Harry Potter wand...

"Cheeks, where are you, Cheeks?" He loves looking for him every morning!

So he is still pretty good at basketball...

...however, his golf skills need some work! HAHAHA

Don't worry I gave him some pointers...I think he's a bit shocked when he actually hit it!

He wears 18-24 Month pants and 24 month/2t shirts

Any time he is allowed to pick out a movie he picks out "Up" because he is still obsessed with balloons!

He says so much now. He still a bit hard to understand, but we almost always eventually figure it out. The other day we were doing a train puzzle and he was saying "all aboard!" It took me awhile to figure it out because I never heard him say it before and I didn't even know that he knew that.

He loves yelling "Happy Birthday" and has been saying "Happy Birthday, Coco" for the last few weeks. He's also pretty good at singing the "happy birthday" song

Kempton likes doing things by himself, like putting his clothes and shoes on.

He is doing awesome at potty training! We don't  push it yet, but he will often tell us he has to go and will usually go whenever Cohen goes. We are making progress!

He  loves puppies, balls, trains, Frozen, Ninja Turtles, Elmo, Mickey and Rubble from Paw Patrol!

When we get in the car he says, "Black thing, please" meaning he wants to watch something on the Kindle

Kempton is one cool little guy and we absolutely love him to pieces!

Katie

Kempton: 22 Months

Kemp is 22 Months! Here's an update!

He wears 18-24 month pants mostly. He still wears 2 pairs of 12 month pants and some 18 month pants are just way too big on him. Eventually, they will  fit in the waist but probably be too short.

He wears 24month/2t shirts

Kemp likes to eat clementines, pancakes and spoonfuls of peanut butter! The other day he was pointing to the cupboard and yelling "butter!" I didn't know what he was talking about until he opened the door to grab a spoon. I realized he wanted a spoonful of peanut butter..

He does really well at stringing words together like "bye bye Mommy" or "thank you daddy"

The other day we were talking on FaceTime with my brother and his family. When Kempton saw my nephew, Tyson, he yelled "Tysie!" Besides Dan, Cohen and me, I think that is the first person he has really recognized.

He still loves puppies.

He sits down on the potty every time before he takes a bath. The other night he actually went potty. It was more of a right time, right place kind of thing but it was still exciting.

Kemp does everything Cohen does (the good stuff and not so good stuff)

He has very little to no patience

He likes to play with the marble set we have, trains, and every thing that his brother is trying to play with.

He likes to watch Mickey, Sheriff Callie, and Chuggington. Him and Cohen just started watching Paw Patrol, and they love it.

He went to his 2nd movie today (Big Hero 6). His first movie was Frozen about a year ago. Anyway, I asked him on the way home if he liked the movie and he said, "no!" It's probably because he fell asleep! And it wasn't even his nap time! HAHA! For the record, Dan, Cohen and I really enjoyed the movie!

We took the rail off his crib yesterday so he could have a big boy bed. He slept for his nap fine, however, bed time was a different story! He was rolling around, falling out and just crying all night! By 1 am I had enough and put the railing back on! I guess he isn't quite ready for it, but that's ok with us.

He LOVES to color!! And apparently take the covers off all the markers and line them up...

I guess he thought it would be fun to color on his hand... but he is usually really good about only coloring on paper.

Kemp loves his hat! And still can't figure out how to wear sunglsses...

We took Cohen's friend, Taylor, to Build a Bear Workshop for her birthday present to make a Ninja Turtle. Kempton came with too and picked out something to make! He loved it and loves his new Ninja Turtle!

Actually, Kempton gets to do a lot of different things with his brother. Here he is at Taylor's birthday party at Pump it Up...

Kempton and Tristan..I just love when Kemp wears hats! So stinkin' cute!

Testing the cars at Toys R Us

We left Kempton's hat in MN. My mom sent it back to us and when we opened the box Kemp put that hat right on his head and wore it most of the night!

Eating his spoonful of peanut butter :)

Kemp likes to hang out with me while I do my makeup. He'll grab a brush and say, "cheeks!"
 Trying on Daddy's glasses...

Using the chalk board at the former Caribou Coffee that now turned into a Zu Coffee.

 Right after he went potty

Practicing his colors! He loves playing this game that Great Aunt Brigitte gave them, though he is still learning some concepts of how to play!

Kemp trying on some silly glasses from a goody bag Cohen got at daycare.

 Popcorn  at the movie theater!

Playing trains with his hat on, of course

And I just love these pictures of Kemp and Cohen. Even though they fight some times and are a bit crazy, they sure do love each other. Cohen often calls Kemp "his baby" and surely thinks he is a pretty cool kid (most of the time) :)

Although, Kemp copies everything Cohen does, I am glad that he didn't pick up Cohen's basketball skills...see below....  ;)

His favorite word...?

I  love to see him grow and learn so many new things, but I wish time would slow down just a bit. I can't believe in just 2 months he will be 2!

Love,
Katie
