Kempton's 1st Birthday Party

We had a small party for Kempton for his 1st birthday. Dan's Aunt, Uncle and cousins came plus my parents flew into town so they could celebrate with him! Here are a few pictures from his special day.

Some party guests eating. We had pizza, bread sticks, pasta salad, taco dip and, of course, cake!

After we ate, Kemp opened up his presents. His big brother was right there willing to "help" aka open Kempton's presents!  I had to keep telling Cohen to let Kempton open his own gifts!

Kempton actually did a really good job at opening them up!

Testing out his new lawn mower from Grammy and Grampy!

Kemp is obsessed with balloons! He loves letting them go so they go up to our ceiling and then wants it back to let it go again. :)

And a few family pictures before he eats cake!

 Our little family!

Time for cake. Dan and I picked out a Nemo cake for him. Might as well pick what we want while we can. ;)

Singing Happy Birthday! I am sure you would be shocked to know that big brother blew out the candle before Kemp had a chance!

No caption needed for the next several pictures...

 BATH TIME!

Then off to play with toys again!

After saying good-bye to the party guests it was time to play with toys again (shocking!)

He loves his tee that he got from his Great Aunty Joyce and Great Uncle Pete

And this birthday boy was all pooped out!

Thank you to those who came to Kempton's birthday party or sent him something to help celebrate his birthday. It means a lot to Kempton and to us.

Love,
Katie

Kempton: 1 year!

Kempton Elias is 1!

Here is an update on our handsome little one year old!

Height: 30 inches (50th percentile)
Weight: 21lbs 5 oz. (50th percentile)

He has 7 teeth. 3 on the bottom and 4 on the top

Kemp usually goes to bed around 8-8:30 and gets up around 6:30 or 7.

His naps are sporadic but he usually takes 2 naps a day.

He is a pretty good eater! He loves chicken nuggets, green beans, all kinds of fruit, french toast,  and pancakes.

Kemp is one smart little guy. He is very good at repeating an action, so if you show him how to do something he will do it again and again. Videos to come on that one! :)

He is obsessed with climbing the stairs. We don't let him climb it by himself, because while he is good at climbing them, he is not always very careful. He usually doesn't want to go upstairs to play, but just wants to climb them. It starts to drive us crazy so we have tried to block the stairs, and he either figures out how to get around it or through it.

Kemp is walking a lot more now, but knows it is faster to crawl.

He will point at things when he wants them and can sign "please"

Kemp says dada, yah! and makes the "m" sound when he wants more. He also says a lot of other sounds, but I don't really think he says many words yet!

He is so happy!! He still wakes up happy and is almost always smiling and laughing.Kemp does have little tantrums when we don't let him climb the stairs or take something away from him. His tantrums don't last long and he just lays his head on the floor.

Kempton still loves baths and now sometimes takes baths with Cohen which they both love.

He loves to wave bye bye and starts waving when we put his shoes on.

His teachers at daycare say that he loves playing in the big kid classroom.

Kemp still loves music, dancing and clapping.

He is a daddy's boy especially when it comes to cuddling.

He loves to throw balls and kick them off a tee :) Video later!

So fun to see how much they grow and change in a year!

And from this...

(sorry, it wouldn't let me put the video in here..)

To this...

Here are a few more videos of him. The first one is Cohen and Grammy showing him how to hit the ball with the bat and then the second one is of him doing it (or trying to anyway!) :)

Then my dad showed him how to stick the football on this little toy and then taught him how to kick it. I love how excited Kempton gets, and I just love that giggle! :)

Kempton is just the perfect addition to our family. It has been an amazing year with him and I am excited to watch him grow and learn new things in the upcoming year! Happy birthday, sweet Kempton!

Love,
Katie
