National Zoo

Going to the zoo is definitely one of my favorite things to do. We have a couple big zoos near us. The National Zoo in DC and the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore. Both zoos have their pluses and minuses but overall they are both great zoos! About a month ago we ventured to the National zoo.

Lions...Male lion here..

Female lion over here..

Female lion comes to sit by male lion..

Male lion stays for about 10 seconds..

Wonders away for about a minute...
..and then comes back. Silly Lion...you should have never left in the first place. Men! Anyway,  the quick scenario made me smile!

Gorgeous lions, aren't they!?

Cohen loves making new friends. They don't even say a word together but played together for a little while.

Mom and Cohen again!

Haha..what a bully!

Cohen looking at the meerkats. He was actually pretty scared of them. I don't think he realized that there was glass between him and the meerkats.

Checking out the...
Armadillo!

Cheetah!

And a quick family picture!

Cohen looks annoyed and ready to leave! Ha. I think he had fun though!

His favorite animal that day was the lion...

1, 2, 3......Videos!

Here are some videos from today!

Trying to say, "I love you". Sometimes when we say, "I love you" he will blow us a kiss!

Cohen can count to five with us. We usually say one, then he'll say 2 and we'll say 3, then he'll say 4, and then we usually say five and give high fives! Anyway, this video we were each throwing a ball on the count of 3! What a good listener, huh? And he was so excited that he would go get the ball and bring it back to me...my little puppy! ;)

Counting and throwing the ball again!

Here he is throwing the ball and it bounces in the hoop! Dan and I were pretty excited by he could care less. Oh, and don't mind the outfit. The tank top is so cute, but just a little big right now, and his shorts were messy so since we were just at home we didn't want to waste another pair!

Oh and this video...be careful around this kid! Dan was watching a playoff basketball game and the last second shot by the Grizzles didn't go in so he went, "ugh!" and Cohen repeated it. So here they are going back and forth

Cohen's 1st Haircut

Dan and I both love having Cohen's hair long, but it was getting a bit out of control. It was in his eyes, and pretty long in the back so we took him to get his haircut today. Here's a before picture from a couple of days ago!

And a few more pictures from today before the haircut...

 Playing at a park

One last shot of the long locks....
Cohen sat on Mommy's lap, ate a sucker and watched a cartoon, and he did a GREAT job! I was so nervous that he would not sit there at all! I think we tired him out enough earlier in the day!

While we were sitting there I suddenly felt something wet on my hand. Cohen was slobbering from the sucker all over me and his shorts. He was a mess! And he was not happy after we finished and I took the sucker away! He got over it though!

Just a slight trim...nothing too crazy! Cohen and Mommy did so well that Daddy bought us ice cream (though Cohen preferred his goldfish crackers!)

Some after pictures...the best I could get tonight!

Apology to our Neighbors!

Sometimes Cohen likes to take things with him when we leave our apartment. Sometimes it is a ball or a car and sometimes it is a corn popper.....

It is so LOUD!! Sometimes it just isn't worth the battle to take it away from him! We try to talk him into grabbing something else, which sometimes will work.  Lately we've been hiding it in the mornings so he won't want to bring it with.

Although, a bit loud he seems to do really well with it. He walks nicely down the hall, usually waits calmly for the elevator and then he will walk right in the elevator.  (Other times, without the popper, he will run away from the elevator when the doors open!) One day, he walked with his corn popper down the hallway, in the elevator and all the way to our car in the parking lot. If you've never been to our place (shame on you) it is quite a walk. Needless to say he loves this toy!

And this day he keep trying to carry his little basketball, his bubble wand and push his corn popper...

 ..and the basketball falls...

..so he stands up the corn popper, a task that takes some concentration, and goes to get his ball...

 ..to try it again!

Such a determined little boy. (Not sure why he doesn't have any pants on!)

By the way, he tries to take toys when he leaves daycare, too. Not a little ball or something, he has tried taking out big things that he can't even really carry! Goofball.

And some videos of his walks down the hall with the corn popper...though you can really tell how LOUD it is! And at the end that little sweetie pie looks back to make sure his mommy is coming!

I love in this one how it picks it up over the little ledge in our doorway. Sorry the video isn't very good. I didn't expect him to start running! :)
