Why do we buy toys?

I started video taping Cohen when he was lounging around playing with the giant pixie stick. He then proceded to play with the lid of his "toy bin" for almost 7 minutes. I would love to know what he was thinking. He does enjoy his toys, but I thought this was kind of funny. The videos arenot very exciting...it is just him playing in his own little world... :)
