Pumpkin Pickin' and Pumpkin Carvin'

A couple weekends ago went to the Fall Festival at Homestead Gardens. It was super crowded, but we were able to do everything we wanted to do. It was a beautiful day...actually it was really warm!

Cohen loved the straw maze. He was nervous at first, but then ended up running through it all by himself.

Kempton enjoyed it too!

They also liked the jumping pillow

We took a hay ride to the pumpkin patch

Cohen had watched "Spookley the Square Pumpkin" the day before so he was on the hunt for a square pumpkin!

It didn't take him long to find one but I encouraged him to actually walk around in the pumpkin patch to see if there was one he liked better

Kempton like trying to pick up the pumpkins and carry them

You pay 5 dollars for a name tag to put on the pumpkin that you find. Then you write your name on it, slap it on your pumpkin and put it on this cart. Then they bring the pumpkins up to the front to pick up on your way out!

Kempton was so proud of his pumpkin! :)

Cohen tried holding the pumpkin on his lap and ended up falling over with the pumpkin on his belly, then I tried helping him and I fell over lost my balance and the pumpkin went rolling along. It was quite the scene...and Dan capture some of it... :)

There we go!!

:)

Then just last weekend it was pumpkin carvin' time....
Kempton really got into it this year (yay...less work for mom and dad!)

Cohen did a great job scooping out all the seeds and stuff!

At one point I caught Kempon scooping the stuff and putting it back into the pumpkin!

Intensely workin'

All done! Cohen's Ninja Turtle, My Mickey (for Kempy), Dad's Old Hag from Snow Whte and Kempy's face pumpkin drawn by Cohen!
The boys love the pumpkins and lighting them up at night. That's the first thing Kemp wants to do when we get home from work. And when he gets up in the morning he will look at them and yell "uh oh" because they are not lit up!

Happy Halloween!!

Halloween costume post coming soon! (I hope!)

Kempton: 21 Months

Shockingly Kempton turned 21 months and was not at Disney World! Although we are going taking a trip to MN next week... :)

Kempton wears 18-24/2t month shirts and shorts. As it turns to fall, I tried some pants on him. It seems as though most of the 18 month pants we have are too big on him, which was the same with Cohen.

He still loves to eat fruit, pancakes, milk, chocolate and sausages. A teacher at daycare mentioned that he won't drink juice. It is very rare if we give the kids juice, and usually if we ever offer to Kemp he will turn it down.

We are still working on learning colors

Kemp still loves to look at books, playing trains and baseball and wrestling with his brother.

He loves to playing baseball and kicking soccer balls

He likes to play hide and seek

He now will say, "I did it!"

When he says something I will repeat it to make sure that's what he said, and if I get it right, he will say, "yep!" and it is just the cutest thing! Likewise, he will shake his head or say "nope" if I don't get it right.

Kempton likes anything that his big brother likes.

He still LOVES balloons

Walking to the grassy area to kick the ball.

He is doing this less frequently, but I still find it funny and adorable.

Kemp likes seeing himself in the camera and making faces.

Mickey shaped cheese...not sure life could be any better for him! ;)

Kemp loves going to the zoo and seeing the animals!

Kemp and Daddy playing in the sand at a restaurant.

Cool dude...
Playing a game. He does not quite yet understand it...

And making faces again!

The new penguin exhibit at the Maryland zoo is awesome! A great view of the penguins as you can see!

He just decided to put his hat on while eating some fresh pineapple!

Wrestling with Cohen. Kemp often just grab Cohen's legs and try to tackle him.

Checking out the zebras and ostriches at the zoo.

Feeding the giraffe at the zoo with Grandpa Scott a few weeks ago.

Cheesin' it up!

Seriously has to do EVERYTHING Cohen does!

In the past couple weeks we had two sets of visitors! Dan's parents were here for a couple days and we went to the zoo and out to dinner.

Haha! Love it!

These pictures are all out of order, but we went to the zoo again with my parents, to an indoor bouncing place and just hung out at our place. Here Grammy and Kemp are dancing with Mickeys.
What a treat for the boys to see the Cheetah strolling by the window several times.

Enjoying some ice cream at the zoo!

Kempy checking out the new penguin area from above the water.

My parents at a 6:30 am flight on Sunday morning so they got a hotel Saturday night. We headed to the hotel to swim for a bit. Kemp loves the water (and daddy!)

Occasionally they sit still!

The pictures are so out of order because they are form my camera, my phone and my mom's camera. Sorry! It takes too long to organize them better! Anyway, here is Kemp sitting in his resting spot while we play baseball!

Kemp and I at the indoor play area.

Kemp isn't really a fan of these things and won't go anywhere by himself.

He did, however, love the the balls in there!

Mr. Kemp loves waving!!

Apparently they were playing restaurant while my parents were watching them :)

Handsome boy!

Here are some videos:

Kemp saying "oh Toodles!"

My dad taught him that when he says, "are you grampy's boy?" Kemp says "you betcha" well he says it in is own little way. :) And he loves seeing the Okapis at the zoo!

A....B....C...we're gettin' there! Ha

Ahhh...the balloon!

I can't believe that in just 3 months, this sweet boy will be 2! Love him to pieces!!
