My First Visit to the Pool

Hi! It's me Cohen! My mom and Dad took me swimming yesterday! I had so much fun and can't wait to go back! Here are my favorite pictures from our day at the pool!

This is when I found out that we were going to the pool. I said, "What? We're going where?!"

...then we moved to the big pool...this one was much warmer!

Mom and Dad bought me this awesome turtle floaty!

Mmmm..Rice Cereal

Cohen is starting to like rice cereal more and more, and he getting the hang of eating it. I mix in a little bit of food to give it some flavor so I think that helps. He also enjoys sitting in his high chair and when mom says silly things (as you can see in the video below) :)

Congratulations Patrick!

Last weekend we ventured to Wilkes-Barre, PA for Dan's cousin, Patrick's, college graduation. It was a little over 3 1/2 hours away. We left on Friday night and came back on Sunday night. It was a fun weekend with the Gerdings and Cohen did very well. He was pretty exhausted by the time we got home. Congratulations Patrick!!

 Ahh...another nice big bed. We just let Cohen sleep in the middle of the bed and Dan and I slept on either side. Remember how I was so excited that he can now roll over? Although I am still very proud of him, it is a little less exciting when he is kicking you and rolling over at 2 in the morning! :)

 

On Saturday we went to the Baccalaureate Mass at Patrick's school. It was in the gym and it was a bit toasty inside. Cohen did so well! The woman in front of us turned around toward the end of the Mass, and she made a comment that Cohen was so quiet that she didn't even know that he was behind her! :)

 Yay! We actually had to watch most of the graduation from the hallway. Cohen was a bit loud inside. He was a little fussy, but mostly just being a loud, chatty baby.

 He finally fell asleep while we were standing in the hallway.

 Andy isn't too sure about Cohen sometimes, but Cohen thinks Andy is pretty funny...I laugh to myself just thinking about what Andy was doing to make Cohen smile! It was a little dance and well, you have to see it for yourself. It was just hilarious!

And we ended the weekend by eating at Perkins. Dan loves Perkins and there isn't one near us. He was so happy. We also got to eat at Sonic while we were there, and shopped at The Bon-Ton. I love that store! There was also a casino and horse track there, which we went to Saturday night. Such a busy, but very fun weekend!

Rolling Over for Dad!

Here's one of the latest Cohen videos! He is getting better at rolling over consistently, even though it looks like he is struggling here! He will roll from his back to his belly, forget how to roll back and then gets a little frustrated. This is the first time Dan saw him roll over...finally!

The Gerdings

The Gerding Family. They are the only family that we have in Maryland, and really the only people we know. They have been so kind to us over the past 2 1/2 years, and we are grateful for them. We have spent Holidays with them and celebrated birthdays with them. They are so great to be around, and they can always make you laugh (except if it is past 9pm and they are already sleeping! haha!).

They came to visit Cohen when he was born. We are just missing Melissa in this picture. I haven't gotten a picture of her and Cohen, but hopefully I'll be able to soon!

Nearly 5 Months!

Cohen is getting so big and growing up so fast! He will be 5 months old this weekend. It kind of breaks our hearts sometimes that no one really gets to see him. He is such a joy to be around and an absolute blessing. I love our little family, but just wish that we had more family around....we always welcome visitors! Anyway....

Cohen's second tooth is coming in! We saw it poking through on Friday (5/13). He's been a trooper through it. The rice cereal still isn't going so well, but we'll keep on trying. He threw an absolute fit when we tried to give him some the other day. He doesn't have to have it yet, so we'll be patient with it! He still gets up in the middle of the night to eat, but then usually goes right back to bed after. We have developed a sleep routine, and Cohen does a great job of putting himself to sleep, both at night and for naps. Cohen enjoys playing in the bathtub now. He likes to sit up (with my help) and play with his toys.

We went to the mall the other day and Cohen love playing with another baby. They both were hilarious. They kept laughing and smiling at each other. Coincidentally, the baby was wearing the exact same thing as Cohen...yes, Cohen has discovered the joy of a mirror. He seriously was giggling hysterically at himself while we were in a store. Silly, silly kid.

Cohen loves going for walks in the baby carrier and for some reason it just exhausts him. I'm pretty sure that it is Dan and I that is doing all the work! Anyway, not much else is new around here.  Just working, enjoying the little bit of nice weather that we have had and hanging out with the little guy. We have a busy couple of weekends coming up, which should be fun!

Anyone want to come visit me?
