Cohen is 3!

A few days couple weeks ago Cohen turned 3 years old! Having his birthday 3 days before Christmas makes celebrating somewhat difficult but we tried the best we could to make him feel special on his big day. More to come on that but first, a little about Cohen right now!

I asked Cohen what his favorites were and here are his responses:

Movie:Lion King
Book: Lion King book
Color: Red
TV Show: Ninja Turtles
Food: Chocolate
Thing to do: Play with toys
Toy:Ninja Turtles
Beverage: Milk

As you can see he is currently obsessed with Ninja Turtles and still loves Lion King!

He always says "I have a secret for you" then you ask about the secret and clearly it is not  a secret. He usually says something like "we forgot to watch Lion King" or "I want to watch Ninja Turtles" ha

Cohen hates going to bed even when he is super tired

He takes naps at daycare and still loves his blanket

He loves to sword fight, wrestle and tackle you when playing football

He is into this whole "best friend" thing. He says that me and him are best friends and Daddy and Kempton are best friends.

He loves to sing and dance. Right now he particularly like singing songs from the movie, "Frozen" and the Ninja Turtles theme song.

Cohen is a very sweet and sensitive boy. He does not like to get in trouble and will usually say sorry (unless he is overtired) if he has done something that isn't very nice.

He also can be a bit of a bully saying things like, "I'm not your best friend anymore" I think he picks up these things at daycare :(

Cohen loves his brother to pieces. He like wrestling with Kempton and laughing with him. Cohen likes when Kempton shares his toys with Cohen, but Cohen still has a little bit of a hard time sharing toys with Kemp.

Cohen knows that his name starts with the letter C and gets excited every time he sees "a C for Cohen!"

Cohen told us that his favorite station at daycare is the "home livin" station where you can pretend to cook.

He sometimes has a hard time with change, but did a great job when he switched over to the 3 year old classroom at daycare a few months ago.

We are working on cleaning up our toys when are done with them and not throwing a fit when we go to the store and don't buy a toy! And patience!

Cohen loves having visitors at his house and has a hard time saying goodbye.

Cohen doesn't like to try new foods and flat out refuses even despite our bribes or threats!

He doesn't like attention to be focused on him and easily gets embarrassed. Except when he has little to no clothes on...he then has no problem strutting around (Trouble!)

He still loves animals, cars and playing with any of his little Disney characters

Cohen likes to be mommy's little helper with cooking, cleaning and wrapping presents!

Cohen is smart and picks things up really quickly even when we think he is not paying attention. We were playing the other day and he served Dan a "Cafe Mocha" which is what Dan orders at our local coffee shop.

Cohen does and says so many funny things, which of course I can't remember now!

Although he tests us sometimes and completely wears us out, he is an absolutely amazing little boy who always makes us laugh and smile. He has such a kind heart and I hope that he never loses that part of him.

Here are a few pictures from Cohen's birthday dinner with the Gerding's (dan's aunt, uncle and cousins) and Uncle Tom who came to visit!

He loved his Ninja Turtle cake. I wish we could have found a cooler one, but it was hard to find!

He then set himself up for this...
..Tom pushing his face in the cake. :)

Caught you!

And a few recent pictures that capture some highlights of Cohen's year!

Cohen was a ring bearer in his Great Aunt, Brigitte's wedding in Las Vegas!

Although he is a momma's boy, he has a very special relationship with his Daddy

After the wedding in Vegas we drove to Disneyland in California. Below are just a few pictures of him from that trip...He was just so grown up!

Cohen picked out his own Halloween costume this year and was Dash from the Incredibles!

And here are a couple pictures of him as a ninja turtle on his actual birthday in New York!

And a few videos...here he is riding his new scooter which he obviously is still learning. Ha!

In this video I was trying to record him singing a song from the movie, Frozen. He gets distracted by his "soft pants." He says, "my pants make my butt soft"

Here he is singing the Olaf song from Frozen.

I have one more if him singing another song from Frozen, but it wouldn't let me post it so here is a link:

More from his birthday in New York coming up!

Love,
Katie
