Well, so much for trying to blog regularly. I am really hoping that it gets better! Dan and I have had such a busy summer. I thought that this summer would be less busy without a wedding to plan, but it hasn't turned out that way. I think part of it is trying to do as much as possible before we become a family of three! Here are some highlights of our summer so far...
We started our summer by going to Disneyworld for Memorial Day weekend. I didn't feel the greatest there, but we had a lot of fun! It was exhausting, and disappointing that I had to sit out on some rides, but we still really enjoyed ourselves.
In June we went to Philadelphia for Dan's cousin's graduation from the Art Institute. It was perfect because the Twins were playing in Philly that weekend. We bought tickets to the game on Saturday. His cousin graduated on a Friday. Instead of getting a hotel room in Philly for the night we drove an hour to Atlantic City. Dan ended up winning enough money to pay for our room! Anyway, we drove back to Philly and went to the game on Saturday. It was a great game. Twins scored 4 or 5 runs in the 9th to tie the game. They ended up winning in Extra innings!
At the end of June we went to North Carolina with the Gerdings (Dan's Aunt and family). They rented a gorgeous house right on the beach. They went for a week, but we came for the end of the week. We went jet skiing, mini-golfing, did a cooking lesson, played pool, watched movies in the theater, playing games and relaxed at the pool. It was great to get away for a little bit and have fun with the Gerdings. We always have a good time with them.
I also celebrated my birthday while in North Carolina. It happened to be our last night there and they catered in this fabulous meal. The cook came to the house and cooked all day! The food was amazing and the chocolate cake she made was so good and of course Dan's favorite!
A couple weeks ago the Twins played four games against the Orioles in Baltimore. We were fortunate to go to all 4 games. It was when we were in our heat wave though! On the Saturday night game the temperature when the game started at 7:05pm was 99 degrees! They gave out free ice so that helped a little bit. We had so much fun though! A home run ball came right at us. You could see us on T.V...well I was scared and trying to get out of the way. I never thought that I would be scared, but they come at you pretty fast. The Orioles are not a very good team so we could get really good seats for pretty cheap.
The other thing that has been keep us pretty busy is Baby Jonas and he or she isn't even here yet! I am 19 weeks now, and we couldn't be happier. There will be more to come in the next post about the baby, but he or she has definitely keep us busy for sure. I have been pretty exhausted (better now) so sleep has become one of my favorite things! The doctor appointments, getting ready for the baby and learning all we can has been taking up a lot of time too. I'm not at all complaining though! :)
More to come...!
Love,
Katie
